ITINERARY
Day 1, ARRIVAL AT CHETUMAL
- Reception at the airport and transfer to hotel. The city of Chetumal, capital of Quintana Roo, is located at the end of the Caribbean coast of Mexico, bordering Belize.
- Accommodation at Hotel Los Cocos 4* or similar with all taxes included.
Day 2, CHETUMAL - BACALAR
- Departure from Chetumal at 10:30 in the morning to take a tour in Bacalar, magical town and 7 colors lagoon.
- There we will visit the Fort of San Felipe, located in the center of the town and built in the seventeenth century, an example of the Novo-Hispanic military architecture that served as protection against pirate attacks. This construction has a privileged panoramic view of the incomparable Bacalar lagoon. We include entrance to the Fort Museum with guide. We will visit the church later.
- Now we will board a pontoon to take a ride through the lagoon, we will enjoy a tour of the beautiful Bacalar lagoon for two hours, we will pass through the canals and through two cenotes in the middle of the lagoon, we will arrive near the area of the rapids, near where stromatolites or microbiologists are located.
Currently, stromatolites are only formed in some rare, more conserved places on the planet, such as on the west coast of Australia, in the Red Sea or in the Torres de Paine National Park, in the Magallanes region in Chile, and of course in the beautiful Laguna de Bacalar. - And after taking the boat tour we will know the viewpoint of the Cenote Azul, imposing by the intense blue and the depth of its waters.
- At the end, we include the food, snacks from the region such as shrimp and fish tacos, Dutch cheese empanadas, a drink, which can be beer, soda or water.
- Return to Chetumal, free afternoon.

Day 3: CALAKMUL
- 6:30 AM Departure from the hotel.
- Box lunch for breakfast.
- Tour to the archaeological zone and ecological reserve of Calakmul mixed heritage of humanity.
The Mayan city of Calakmul and its tropical forests of more than 750,000 hectares, have been declared by UNESCO the first mixed heritage of humanity in Mexico, for being both an invaluable cultural heritage and a protected refuge from the biosphere.
The city of 32 architectural ensembles, whose largest stepped pyramid is 45 meters high and stands out from among trees up to 30 meters high, began construction from the second century before Christ until the seventh century of our era, towards the year 800 AD, adorned with steles and murals.
In this that is the second largest reserve of tropical forests in America, it is likely to see spider monkeys, howler monkeys, deer, anteaters, toucans, among other jungle animals and a variety of plant species. - Box lunch for lunch.
- Return to Chetumal.

Day 4: CHETUMAL DEPARTURE
- Check out of the hotel.
- At the agreed time transfer hotel to the airport to take flight back home.
